A Partnership-Based Approach to Operationalizing Learning Behaviours Using Event Data

This paper describes a partnership-based approach for analyzing data from learning management system (LMS) used by students in grades 6–12. The goal of the partnership was to create indicators ways which navigated digital activities, referred as playlists, that were comprised resources, pre-assessments, and summative assessments. To develop various indicators, collaboration gathered school practitioners’ perspectives on desirable undesirable student actions within across jointly explored made sense LMS data, examined relationships between behavioural outcomes important practitioners. described this is intended provide an example future researcher–practitioner collaborations build upon when seeking analyze environments. widespread use playlists LMSs K–12 schools throughout United States means collaborative process may have broad applicability large numbers environments, schools, collaborations.
